Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the UK Electrical Jobs platform (the "Platform"), operated by UK Electrical Jobs ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Acceptable Use Policy, and our cookie practices (you can manage cookies via the Cookie Settings link in the footer). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
Company registration details and ICO registration number will be added here once finalised.
2. Definitions
- Worker — an electrician or apprentice with a worker account.
- Employer — a business or individual posting jobs or accessing candidate data.
- Admin — a member of our moderation and operations team.
- Content — any text, image, document, CV, message, or listing submitted to the Platform.
- Alerts — notifications sent via WhatsApp, Telegram, email, or in-app messaging.
3. About the Platform
UK Electrical Jobs is a UK-based recruitment platform connecting verified electricians and apprentices with employers in the electrical trade. The Platform currently provides:
- Worker and employer account registration
- Professional verification via ECS cards and recognised trade certificates
- Employer job posting, applications, and CV database access
- WhatsApp and email job alerts for verified workers
- Administrative moderation of users, listings, and verification submissions
We are not an employment agency, recruitment consultancy, or labour provider under the Employment Agencies Act 1973. We do not employ, place, supervise, or pay any worker listed on the Platform.
4. Eligibility & Age
You must be at least 16 years old to register a worker account, and at least 18 to register an employer account or post a job. By registering you confirm you have the legal right to work in the UK or are recruiting workers who do.
5. Account Responsibilities
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering, and keep your account details up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
Each individual or organisation may hold only one account of a given type. Accounts are non-transferable. Sharing a worker account between multiple individuals is prohibited.
6. Acceptable Use
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary, you must not misuse the Platform, spam other users, scrape data, impersonate others, post scams or harassment, or upload illegal job postings or content.
7. No Fees Charged to Workers
In line with the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003, we do not charge electricians or apprentices any fee for registering, being verified, receiving job alerts, or applying to jobs through the Platform.
8. Worker Verification
Workers may submit ECS cards or recognised electrical trade certificates for verification. Submissions are reviewed manually by an admin and may be approved, rejected, or returned for resubmission. Submitting fraudulent, altered, expired, or misleading documentation will result in immediate suspension or termination and may be reported to the relevant issuing body.
Verification confirms that the documents provided appear genuine on the date of review. It is not an endorsement of skill, competence, conduct, or fitness for any particular role. Employers remain solely responsible for their own due diligence before engaging any worker.
9. CV Uploads & Candidate Data
Workers may optionally upload a CV. By uploading a CV and enabling "Open to Work", you consent to verified employers viewing your CV via the CV database for recruitment purposes only. You can remove your CV or disable "Open to Work" at any time from your dashboard.
Employers must treat candidate data as confidential, use it solely for recruitment, and comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Bulk export, resale, scraping, or sharing of CV data with third parties is strictly prohibited.
10. Employer Responsibilities
Employers must ensure all job postings are accurate, lawful, and comply with UK employment legislation including the Equality Act 2010, the National Minimum Wage Act 1998, the Working Time Regulations 1998, and the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. Employers must not post roles that are misleading, discriminatory, fictitious, or designed to harvest candidate data.
11. Job Postings & Removal of Listings
All job listings are subject to review and approval by our moderation team before publication. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, to reject, edit, suspend, or remove any listing — including ones that are suspicious, misleading, duplicate, fraudulent, out of date, off-platform, or otherwise in breach of these Terms.
12. No Guarantee of Employment or Hiring
We do not guarantee that any worker will receive an offer of employment, an interview, or any contact from an employer as a result of using the Platform. Equally, we do not guarantee that any employer will receive applications, suitable candidates, or hires from any job posting. Users are responsible for their own due diligence before accepting, offering, or starting any work.
13. WhatsApp & Telegram Alerts
WhatsApp (and any future Telegram) job alerts are available to workers who have been verified and approved by an admin. By providing your phone number and opting in, you consent to receiving job-related messages via that channel. You may leave groups directly from WhatsApp/Telegram or manage region preferences from your dashboard at any time.
WhatsApp and Telegram are operated by third parties and are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for outages, message delivery failures, or changes in those services.
14. Community & Forum Features
Any community, forum, comment, or messaging features (current or future) are provided to facilitate legitimate professional discussion. You are solely responsible for the content you post. Harassment, hate speech, doxxing, spam, paid promotion without disclosure, off-topic recruiting, and sharing of personal contact details of third parties without consent are not permitted.
15. Paid Features & Billing
Certain features (for example premium or featured job postings, CV database access tiers, or enhanced employer tools) may be offered on a paid basis. Where paid features apply, pricing, billing cycle, and refund policy will be presented before purchase. No existing free feature will be retroactively charged without notice.
16. Third-Party Services
The Platform relies on third-party providers including (without limitation) Supabase, WhatsApp, Stripe, Resend, Cloudflare, and analytics providers. Their services are subject to their own terms. We are not liable for failures, outages, or policy changes by these providers.
17. Platform Availability
We aim to keep the Platform available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Platform may be unavailable due to planned maintenance, technical issues, or outages affecting third-party services such as WhatsApp, Stripe, email providers, or hosting infrastructure. We are not liable for any loss arising from such interruptions.
18. Moderation, Suspension & Bans
We reserve the right to moderate all content on the Platform. We may, at our sole discretion:
- Suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate accounts that breach these Terms
- Remove or modify content that is inaccurate, inappropriate, or unlawful
- Reject verification submissions that do not meet our requirements
- Restrict access to features, including WhatsApp alerts and the CV database
- Ban users for repeated or serious breaches without refund
Where reasonable we will notify affected users and offer a route to appeal, but we are not obliged to give prior notice for serious, fraudulent, or unlawful conduct.
19. Notice & Takedown
If you believe content on the Platform infringes your rights (including copyright or trade mark), is defamatory, or breaches these Terms, contact us at info@ukelectricaljobs.com with details and we will investigate promptly.
20. Intellectual Property
All Platform branding, design, code, and editorial content are owned by us or our licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent. You retain ownership of content you upload but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute it as needed to operate the Platform.
21. Prohibited Automated Access
You must not scrape, crawl, harvest, or systematically extract data from the Platform, nor use bots, automated scripts, or unauthorised APIs. Attempting to bypass rate limits, RLS policies, or authentication is prohibited and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
22. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, or your conduct on the Platform.
23. Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of earnings, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Platform.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
24. Modern Slavery & Worker Welfare
We are committed to opposing modern slavery, forced labour, and human trafficking in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Any user with credible concerns about exploitation, unsafe working conditions, or coercion linked to a job posting should report it to info@ukelectricaljobs.com.
25. Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. For details of what we collect, how we use it, your rights, and how to contact our data controller, see our Privacy Policy. For cookies and tracking, manage your preferences using the Cookie Settings link in the footer.
26. Complaints & ICO
If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first at info@ukelectricaljobs.com so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
27. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your dashboard or by emailing us. We may terminate or suspend your account in accordance with the Moderation section above. On termination, sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including IP, liability, indemnity, and governing law) will continue to apply.
28. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Platform or by email to registered users. Your continued use after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance.
29. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
