THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Substation SAP (Senior Authorised Person) to join a long-term operation working across an SSE substation framework in Scotland. This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced electrical professional with a strong background in substation environments and Senior Authorised Person responsibilities up to 33kV. The role will involve working across multiple sites throughout Scotland, supporting the safe and effective delivery of substation works within a long-term framework.

THE ROLE:

As a Substation SAP, you will be responsible for the safe control and execution of electrical works across substation sites up to 33kV.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as Senior Authorised Person in accordance with company and client safety rules.
• Taking responsibility for the safe control and isolation of electrical systems and equipment.
• Working on substation projects and associated electrical infrastructure up to 33kV.
• Supporting site teams with switching, isolation and safe systems of work.
• Ensuring electrical works are planned and carried out safely and in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Maintaining high standards of electrical safety and compliance across multiple sites.
• Working closely with project managers, engineers, site teams and client representatives.
• Supporting the successful delivery of works across the SSE substation framework.
• Travelling between multiple sites across Scotland as required.

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Authorised Person with a strong and demonstrable background in substations.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a Senior Authorised Person / SAP.
• Proven substation experience.
• Experience working on electrical systems and equipment up to 33kV.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety, isolation and safe systems of work.
• The ability to work independently while operating effectively as part of a wider project team.
• A professional and safety-focused approach.
• Willingness and ability to travel across Scotland to multiple sites.
• Full UK driving licence.
