Solar Panel Installer

About this role

We are looking for a qualified self-employed Solar Panel Installer to work with us on a subcontractor basis, covering Ashford and the surrounding areas. Please note: This is not an employed position. The successful applicant will work on a self-employed subcontractor basis and will be responsible for their own tax and National Insurance obligations.

We welcome applications from both newly qualified installers looking to build their experience and experienced solar installers seeking their next opportunity. Your day-to-day duties will include:

>Installing solar PV systems on domestic and commercial properties.
>Mounting solar panels safely and securely on a variety of roof types.
>Installing mounting systems, cabling and associated equipment.
>Happy to climb ladders and scaffolding
>Working alongside electricians to complete solar installations.
>Carrying out installations in line with current regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
>Diagnosing and resolving installation issues where required.
>Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
>Providing excellent customer service while working on customers' properties.

Experience with any of the following would be an advantage:

>Battery storage installations.
>Inverter installation and commissioning.
>EV charger installations.
>Working at height and roof safety procedures.

Experience installing solar PV systems (newly qualified or experienced applicants welcome).
>Full UK driving licence.
>Own van and tools.
>Public Liability Insurance.
>Working at Height training (preferred).
>ECS/CSCS card (preferred).
>Good communication and customer service skills.
>Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
>Reliable, punctual and professional.

We are currently completing around two solar installations per month, providing regular subcontract work. We are also in discussions regarding several larger contracts, which we expect to secure over the coming months. If successful, this will significantly increase the number of installations we undertake and provide more consistent, long-term work for the right subcontractor.
